Royal Greenwich Fencing Club is an independent and privately run club which aims to promote fencing by making it more accessible, and from a grass roots level upwards.
We offer a local venue with a friendly atmosphere where people have the chance to try their hand at fencing for the first time, or to hone their existing skills against new opponents.
The club has an extensive range of safety equipment and weapons available for use by it’s members, and we can supply all the items necessary for a beginner to start training and fighting. However, we do ask that individuals dress appropriately and require the following:
• Tracksuit or jogging trousers
• T-shirt (preferably crew-neck)
• Trainers or squash shoes
Attendance is by appointment only as we operate a waiting list for places on our beginner courses, so please contact us before coming to the club.
Classes for junior fencers are held on Monday evenings and are for those aged between eight and sixteen, while classes for adult fencers aged seventeen and over are held on Thursday nights.
The club meets at Shrewsbury House community centre on Shooters Hill, Plumstead, Greenwich, South-East London.
The club is open from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm Mondays for juniors (those under the age of 16), and 7.45 pm to 10:00 pm Thursdays for adults.
